The Pharmacy Technician with Pediatric & Geriatric Specialization is responsible for providing pharmaceutical services to patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. The Technician will assist the licensed pharmacist in providing safe medication therapies and services to meet the needs of the pediatric and geriatric population. The Technician will also maintain accurate and complete records for patient profiles, dispensary inventory, and medication orders.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Receive and process orders for prescription medications and other pharmaceutical supplies.

• Compound and dispense medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

• Maintain patient profiles and accurately document all information in the patient record.

• Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding medication orders and potential drug interactions.

• Monitor patient medication therapy and provide patient counseling as needed.

• Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to pharmacy practice.

• Maintain current knowledge of new medications, drug interactions, and other pharmacy related topics.

• Assist in other pharmacy related duties as needed.
